The Claims Property Specialist position offers you comprehensive training, flexibility with majority of work over the phone, autonomy to manage the complete claims process and future career growth opportunities. Position Summary The Claims Property Specialist trains on and assists with investigating, analyzing and determining the extent of liability for high complexity and cost, property loss or damages and working to settle claims. Communicates with insureds, claimants and other relevant parties during investigation and resolution of claims. Evaluates damages and approves payment of claims within claims settlement authority.
Essential Functions: Train on and assist with: Investigating and assessing each claim to create or review estimates. Investigating and analyzing claim information to determine extent of liability. Analyzing insurance documents and other records to determine insurance coverage. Evaluation, negotiation and determination of settlement values. Interview or correspond with relevant parties to determine claim settlement, denial or review. Responsible for monitoring and completing assigned claims inventory. Acquire and maintain a current state adjuster’s license and meet state continuing education requirements. Develop and maintain a high-standard relationship and understanding with agency force, customers and other stakeholders. Assist with catastrophic event and travel to event locations. Organize catastrophe team functions in assigned area during events and other locations.
Education and Experience Minimum Requirements: High school degree or GED. Office experience with emphasis on computer skills. Experience in Microsoft programs. Ability to pass a Wyoming adjuster's licensing exam.
Preferred Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience. Knowledge of auto body and dwelling construction. Knowledge of medical terminology. Basic investigation, evaluation and negotiation skills.
