The Associate Property Development Manager's (ADM) primary responsibility is end-to-end development, communication and coordination, and delivery of best-in-class, operational facilities to Best Buy Retail, Supply Chain, and Corporate partners. The ADM defines and coordinates project details, scope, and budgets with the Development Managers, Real Estate Director(s), Best Buy's Design and Planning Department, the Construction Department, and New Business Owners. As applicable the ADM also acts as Best Buy's owner representative for design and construction details and issues to landlords, developers, brokers and attorneys. The ADM is responsible for managing external consultant(s) contract(s), schedule(s), and insuring compliance with Best Buy standards, policy and procedures and all legal documents pertaining to physical design and construction requirements within a facility’s project development.  
The ADM is also charged with management of company capital through accurate financial forecast, project records, schedules and any documentation for assigned projects.  The ADM plays a role in lease negotiations and/or review regarding physical construction details and issues, working through planning, zoning, variance, or permitting issues with local authorities, and the procurement of construction services through bidding/awarding the project. Ultimately the ADM aids the successful end-to-end development and delivery of a project to our retail and corporate customers.  The ADM is charged with recognizing and identifying project variances in relation to the budget, standards of quality, or schedule and presenting clear, concise and complete recommendations to department leadership for resolution of those issues and variances. 
Project types include: 
• Distribution Center/Logistics – new or existing retrofits 
 • New store construction – ground up or existing building retrofit 
 • Diagnosis and repair of major facility issues 
 • Office or other misc. project types 
 • Standards drawings and specifications definition/maintenance 
 • Open store renovation/remodel 
 • Minor remodel projects both in BBY’s retail and/or logistics locations 
Basic Qualifications: 
 • 3 or more years of experience in Architecture or Development Management with a preference towards retail development and open store (remodel) and/or Distribution/Logistics projects  
 • Ability to travel (50% or more at times, 25% typical) 
 Preferred Qualifications: 
 •Bachelor’s Degree BS/BA in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management  
 • Experience with MS Office (including MS Project) and Photoshop  
 • AutoCAD experience  
 • Experience with Municipality Negotiations and Presentations
