Leasing agents also generally have some background in real estate and are knowledgeable about federal, state and local fair housing laws.The agent should also be able to communicate well and be willing to do a lot of travelling around the city or nearby towns since the jobs involves ensuring that the agent’s clients gets the best rental deal possible. That is what the job primarily entails. Leasing agent jobs require making sure that the apartments and houses presented to the client are well maintained, in a safe neighborhood and meet other client expectations. The agent also has to make sure that the rental agreement is understood by the client. Leasing agent jobs also requires the agents to do a proper background and credit check of their clients.
