Real estate agents must have certain skills and abilities to succeed in this field. This is because there is a stiff competition in real estate and land field. Therefore, an agent must possess strong analytical skills and superior communications skills, as he or she acts as a mediator between the purchaser and the seller. He or she must possess an eye for detail and a logical mind with awareness of the real estate market determine the best buying or selling price for his or her clients. A real estate agent must have a high level of patience and must be ready to work hard. Since this field is not stable, a real estate agent must be ready to face market downfalls and enhancements. He or she must be able to handle both negative and positive aspects related to the real estate industry.

Educational and other qualifications required to be a real estate agent

For becoming a real estate agent, a candidate must have the license to perform the duties as an agent for real estate. If a person performs the duty of a real estate agent without a license then it is considered illegal and grounds for legal punishment. To acquire a real estate license, a person must have experience in this sector in the position of site superintendent or a sales manager. All candidates must have a master's degree, specializing in financial management, real estate management or similar field. There are also real estate schools that offer licensing courses to help individuals pass the real estate exam for certification and legally practicing in the field

The average salary of a real estate agent is between $30,000 and $50,000 depending on the property and location. Most realtors are paid a commission on the properties they sell. The value of the home sold will determine the income. A higher priced home sold will yield a higher commission amount.
