For those that sell real estate and land as a career, the tough economic times and the downturn in the housing market has taken its toll. The future for real estate agents has never looked brighter, when you consider there are many homes for buyers to choose from, including lower priced foreclosure homes. The successful real estate agents will direct their skills towards helping the qualified buyers that have been waiting on the sidelines, for the prices to bottom.

Because it appears that the bottom has hit in most of the major markets, the future for real estate agents is improving. The first time home buyer tax incentives make it a more attractive time than ever for many to purchase a home. Not only can the tax incentive make their down payment, but housing prices are below appraisals of a year ago, and most are below market prices, just to sell the home. Since it is a buyer's market, sellers are more willing to negotiate than in years past.

The creative real estate agents and land agents will find the buyers, advertise for them and educate them on why now is the best time to buy real estate. In fact, with mortgage rates so low, housing prices near the bottom and tax incentives until December, 2009, there has been no better time to purchase a home in recent history.

Of course, the job market has discouraged some from considering a home purchase, but many that have been planning a home purchase, but postponed it, may find that payments will be less than they are paying for rent, and they will actually save on outgoing monthly expenses.

The other market that real estate and land agents should focus on is the relocation market. Many of those that are still working have agreed to transfers, in order to keep the income stream, no matter where they have to go. Once they have agreed to take a transfer to another part of the country, often, the employer will help with relocation fees and other incentives. The main problem is that these buyers need the help of a trained real estate agent to help them find the good deals in a new area.

The future for real estate agents looks good because the real estate market is near the bottom, and they have plenty of inventories for the potential buyers to choose from. Sellers are more willing to negotiate and lenders are still making loans to creditworthy buyers at low rates, so they can qualify for more home than before. If they can take advantage of the first home buyer tax incentive, it can help buyers overcome the biggest hurdle most new home buyers face-coming up with the down payment.

There are plenty of opportunities in the real estate and land agent career field. Many of the commercial properties will be the next to go through the same phase that residential properties have almost completed. If you get in at the bottom, the opportunities for upside are tremendous for real estate and land agents, as well as buyers. The future for real estate and land agents looks bright on the horizon and now is the time to consider those careers.
